Its that time of year... time for lucky red packets! Chinese New Year!

Happy Chinese New Year my fellow netizens (my new favourite word- made from the two words Internet and citizen)! Festivals, delicious Asian food (although mostly fried) and people everywhere is the definitely the way to celebrate the upcoming Lunar New Year! I've just got home from "Cho Tet" on Victoria Street at Richmond and lets just say it was hot hot and my feet are killing me! The food is always the highlight to these festivals! We had beef wrapped in vine leaves, potato twists, banana wrapped in sticky rice with coconut milk, toffee fruits, Hot E (basil seed drink), sugar cane drink, beef jerky, chicken skewers, fried dumplings and lots more!!

Thinking about the afternoon/night I had I realised that no matter where you go you will always be checking out the people! Let it be because they're the opposite sex, their sense of fashion, what they're eating or who they're hanging out with etc...For whatever reason, I think festivals are one of the best places to do that! I don't mean in a bitchy way, but in a nice and friendly way; like 'oh, I like her dress' or 'he's looking good' or 'I want to eat what she's eating'. Talking to people is what I enjoy the most and small talk is definitely fun!
I'm not going to lie and type it out with a passion and that is- I LOVE FESTIVALS!! They are so much fun especially if you go with a few of your close friends or siblings who love love food and enjoy having fun! Seeing people you haven't seen in while and being introduced to friend's friends gives you a feeling a excitement! I absolutely love the feeling and I'm sure thousands of others do too!
We thought this was pretty awesome :)

Whoohooo! My first post- hoped you enjoyed it and look forward to more!

  1. I see you bragging about all the food that you ate...that I didn't get to eat. Whatever. I'm going to be hanging out with Chinese people in Paris eating baguettes and drinking wine and stuff. Also, who is this new Chinese New Year companion you have found? Where did you find her? How much did she cost you. Yeah she's cute, but she's Asian, so you don't get to be the cool Asian hanging with the white person anymore.

    p.s. Your hair looks great.
p.p.s. The phrase is 'Whether it be...'! Lay off the booze, you slacker.

  2. Hahahhahaha!! Not to brag or anything, BUT the food was sooooooooo good!! Ooooooo, having baguettes and drinking wine seems to be the peak of awesomeness when living in France!
Oh, my companion was pretty cheap. I didn't find her, she was attracted to me!! HAHHAHAHA. I'm still prety cool even though I don't have a white companion! I bet you those Chinese people in France are not cool as your one and only Vietnamese/Buddhist/Small/Wise little friend in Melbourne!! hehehehehe
